GED practice test
General Equivalency Diploma tests certify that the certificate holder has Canadian or US high school-level academic skills. To earn this, you are required to pass 4 subject tests that measure your proficiency in mathematics, reading, and writing, social studies, and science. This certification allows those who failed to secure admissions in high school or could not complete high schools an opportunity to have an equivalency credential.
Any US or Canadian citizen is eligible to take this exam even those that are imprisoned. The exam is taken on a computer at the designated exam centers. The incarcerated and those that are not within US territories can take their exam via Pearson VUE. The exam costs $120.
GMAT test prep
Graduate Management Admission Test is a test administered by Graduate Management admission council. The aim of this test is to assess specific reading, quantitative, analytical and verbal skills in English (written) during admission to graduate management programs. Passing this test confirms that you have the necessary skills to join a business school.
Registration for the exam can be done at the accredited exam centers or online at mba.com. The exam takes about 3.5 hours and the certification is valid for 5 years. The fee charged is $250.
This is a standard test administered by America college testing – a non-profit organization. The test is aimed at assessing skills of college applicants before admission. Skills assessed include English reading, science, and math. Through this test, genuine applicants can be distinguished from imposters.
There are no prerequisites on the various exams discussed above. However, college applicants are assumed to be fluent in English or the respective language that one chooses. The above test preps are in sections and each section takes about 35 – 60 minutes with math having the highest time allocation. The total score is 36 and the passing score is 17. The exam fee is as follows:
- Exam with writing $62.50
- Without writing $46.00
- $47.50 is charged on top of the normal fee if you are outside of US or Canada.
